Follow the Money: Networks, Peers and Patronage in Science, Technology and Medicine is a three-stage research focus that will run from 2009 to 2012 bringing together scholars from across periods and disciplines to discuss general questions, challenges and methods, and hopefully to learn from each other in a fruitful interchange of ideas.
The first stage will be a symposium in September 2009 with the aim to identify the cutting-edge theoretical and historiographical issues and debates concerning networks and patronage in science, technology and medicine. This symposium is intended to set the outline for the second stage which will be a full scale international conference that will take place 18-19 August 2010 (preliminary dates). The final stage will be the publication of a book based on a selection of papers presenting a series of well-chosen case studies from the conference.
